Greece Nafplio Travel Tips Trip planning

April 30, 2019 by Untours Staff

Our Greek UnTour is not one of our biggest programs, but it is consistently one of our best reviewed. There is something magical about our hometown of Nafplio: the atmosphere of its charming pedestrian Old Town, its sea views and beaches, and the access it offers to the whole of the Peloponnese and some of Greece’s most important archaeological sites.

But don’t take our word for it. Here is what our Greece UnTourists have to say.

“We’d go back in a heartbeat. We loved it. Excellent choice of towns. Such good food and terrific walks around the mountain.” – K. Hostetler

“We must rate our Nafplio UnTour, our first UnTour, a total success. From our first contact with Cathrin to Christos’ goodbye at the airport, we were well cared for. Our questions were promptly answered, our apartment adequately provisioned and comfortable, the rental car was clean and ran well. I can’t think of anything that would have made the trip better.” – C. Metelak

Nafplio

“We have told so many about UnTours and also about using Nafplio as a base for touring. I am someone who doesn’t relax very easily but I felt completely relaxed, at ease, and at home on our trip. We quickly got on the Greek schedule and hours of eating/sleeping and felt at home! I had a 10 year old grandson and a slightly physically challenged friend with me as travel partners, but we all negotiated well together because we were not on anyone else’s strict schedule. We made our own to suit our needs! That’s pretty much the UnTours way! “- J. Watson

“Nafplio is a lovely town, comfortable and well located. Greece is beautiful and historic, friendly people. What’s not to like? “- M. Boyken

“This was our second UnTour and, though they both were great, Greece was wonderful beyond words. So many memories. We learned a little Greek before the trip. I listened to language lessons during my commute for almost 6 months before we left. It made a huge difference to be able to ask for a fork in Greek and help someone trying to give us directions by clarifying if we should turn left or right. A person’s face just lit up when we spoke a few of our 50 or so words of Greek. It really made it feel like we lived there.”– J. Turaj

“The Peloponnese Peninsula is a very interesting place to visit, and Nafplio is well situated to explore the interesting archaeological sites close by, as well as the beautiful countryside.” – Y. Zavoshy

Our Greece UnTour goes year round, including dates for Christmas and New Year’s. Take a look at some of our new apartments in Nafplio, and get planning.
