A simple tip that we can all use to improve our presence with people and how engaged we are in conversation - just tune into your breath 10% more. It sounds so simple, but really it is effective. The more we pay attention to our breath, the more we come into the room and out of our own head. Happy World Creativity & Innovation Day! Creativity is something that this world always needs more of, and I do my best to encourage Creative Thinking in my work with clients at every opportunity. In this photo, I am showcasing a creation of my own at MindShift 2024: The Entrepreneur Experiment Edition, which I call ‘The Missile’ (one of the five Funda-Mentals). This is an idea taken from my recent book ‘The Inner CEO’ in which I use a range of creative metaphors to represent different fundamental aspects of the Nature of our Human Minds. Feedback has shown me that people really do appreciate these creative interpretations of different aspects of our own minds, which suggests to me that there are plenty of opportunities for people to get creative when trying to explain whatever topic it is that they are passionate about. So ask yourself; ‘How could YOU bring more creativity into your line of work?’. #ShaneCradock #WorldCreativityDay #TheInnerCEO

It is hard to convey the importance of this little tip - DO NOT believe what your mind is saying when your Mental State is low. I advise my clients to have a post-it note somewhere visible in their home and workspace with the words “How is my State?” written out. I ask them to check in with themselves mentally and ask “What is my State out of 10?”. If we find ourselves below a 7, we are not in the right state of mind to be making decisions. When we find ourselves in this place, this is the perfect time to take a pause and run through SHiFTS (more on this at the link below). This can leave us feeling refreshed and renewed to return to our work in a better State of Mind. https://lnkd.in/e9JypYYg I can’t tell you how many times in my own experience this has saved me from making bad decisions due to poor judgement. Learning how to stay present and manage our Minds is one of the most fundamental skills we can learn to improve our relationships with our loved ones. How many times have you found yourself in the presence of someone you really care about, and heard them remark about how you’re not *really* there… This can be a cutting observation, because usually we know that it is true. Our time spent with loved ones is so precious, and we don’t want to lose a single moment of it through distraction and lack of awareness. This is one of the many fundamental reasons why we must train ourselves in ‘Mind Management’ and awareness. It is a non-negotiable if we want to lead a happy life in which we can really engage our loved ones. In this video, I mention a tool I have developed known as SHiFTS. This is a short and simple centering practice we can use throughout our day to bring ourselves fully into the present moment. What a pleasure to sit down with John Riordan last week to discuss my latest book ‘The Inner CEO’ on 2 separate occasions in Galway and in Kerry. Last week on ‘The Inner Edge’ Podcast I explored our subconscious thinking, and the thoughts that may be holding us back, from beyond our conscious awareness. The vast majority of us still have so far to go in terms of understanding how our minds, and in particular our thinking, works. The more we can turn our attention inwards and really examine our own thoughts, the more control we will gradually gain over our thinking, and even the subconscious patterns that underlie our thinking. In this clip I give the concrete example of how positive self-talk can only get us so far, and may not always work when it comes to real-life situations such as Public Speaking.
