As always Adam, good advice.  As have some of your commentators below. I well remember the long days when getting up to speak would give me clammy hands, and lots of Umms and Ahhhs.  I now quite enjoy it.  Someone said "pitch, pause, pace" is important, and I do find that useful. And the power of stories.  I always like to open with a story.

 I always tell presenters that the audience has chosen to be there to listen to them so they are not waiting for you to slip up...and we are human ..we make mistakes, admit it and move on
