We have a different take on money than most financial experts. Kind of like if Chip and Joanna talked about money. You know, down-to-earth, approachable, easy to understand, and even fun.

We aren’t going to judge you for your past mistakes and we haven’t forgotten the pain of being broke so we can relate. We believe simple always beats complicated. And we believe money isn’t the goal, but is simply a tool that can be used to fulfill what God has called us to do.

Success with money. Success in Marriage. Success as a Christian. That’s what we’re after. If you want that too, then you’ll love the show.

We help you spend less time thinking about money while getting better results.

The SeedTime Money podcast is where we (Bob & Linda Lotich) share the mindsets, beliefs and strategies we used to go from being debt-ridden and broke to:

- paying off $400k of debt
- eliminating all guilt and shame with money
- building multiple streams of passive income
- honoring God with our finances
- learning how to save & invest wisely
- having financial unity in our marriage
- giving $1 million by age 40

Occasionally, we interview guests like Mark Batterson, Annie F. Downs, Joshua Becker, Carlos Whittaker, Crystal Paine, Jordan Raynor, and other Biblically-minded Christian thought leaders as we seek to connect our faith with our personal finances.

And if you like what you hear on the podcast, consider diving deeper with us by grabbing our award-winning book ‘Simple Money, Rich Life’ or take your spouse or church small group through our 6-week on-demand workshop 'True Financial Freedom'.

(💸02/40) Find your starting point by calculating your “Assets Under Management”

Today, we're embarking on a journey to unlock the first of two crucial numbers every Christian should track to lead a thriving financial life that honors God.

Whether you're aiming to be debt-free or dream of being more generous without living like a pauper, this episode is your first step towards realizing those goals.
Here's what we're diving into today:
Understanding Assets Under Management (AUM): Why is AUM the second most important number for Christians to track? We'll explore how rethinking 'net worth' as 'assets under management' can change your perspective on stewardship and align your financial management with Biblical principles.
Practical Steps to Calculate Your AUM: Learn how to quickly and easily calculate your AUM with tools you already have at home. This isn't just about knowing your financial status—it's about managing God's gifts wisely and with purpose.
Real-Life Impact of Knowing Your AUM: We'll share personal stories and insights on how understanding and managing our AUM has profoundly affected our financial decisions and spiritual life. Discover how this approach can lead to greater financial peace and a more focused pursuit of God's plan for your resources.
Encouragement for Your Financial Journey: Whether your AUM is positive or negative, this number represents a starting point, not a final judgment. We discuss how every financial state presents an opportunity for growth and a deeper understanding of God's provision.

(💸01/40) how we went from stranded with $7 to giving $1 million (the full story)

As we get started with this new series "Our 40-week checklist to giving $1 million", today we are starting with the story of what God has done the last few years. Here's a little of what we are covering.
Our wild ride from the edge of financial despair to experiencing financial miracles. Have you ever considered that your financial situation might just be the perfect setup for a miracle? I'll share the game-changing moments that reshaped our view on money and led to abundance in ways we never expected. Dreaming of giving away a million dollars might sound out of reach, but what if I told you it's possible? Let's talk about what happens when your biggest dreams and divine inspiration collide. We've got a strategy for financial victory that goes beyond the numbers. It's about mindset shifts and making smart moves. Curious about the twists and turns on that road? We're sharing all. Generosity isn't just for those with overflowing bank accounts. We found that giving, no matter where you're at financially, has the power to transform not just the receiver's life but yours too. Let's explore how the joy of giving can be part of your life, regardless of your financial status. For us, financial freedom became a tool, not the ultimate goal. It's a means to live out our mission, not the mission itself. What could redefining financial freedom mean for your life and purpose? Sometimes, the key to a financial breakthrough is found where you least expect it. We discovered simple yet profound changes that turned everything around for us. I'm excited to share those with you. Our financial story is more than just our own personal victory. It's a ripple in a larger pond, a call to action for everyone. Let's delve into how your financial journey can impact not just your life but those around you, in ways you might not even imagine. Tune in to not just hear a story of financial transformation but to ignite a spark for your own journey towards a richer life in every sense of the word.

John Mark Comer on why "Christian" doesn't mean what you thought and the one thing you must do to truly follow Jesus

John Mark Comer on why "Christian" doesn't mean what you thought and the one thing you must do to truly follow Jesus

Today we dive deep with John Mark Comer, author of "Practicing the Way," exploring transformative insights that bridge the gap between our financial lives and our journey with Jesus.
    Why You Should Listen:
Why “Christian” Doesn’t Mean What You Thought & the Invitation Jesus is Really Offering
This one thing heals wounds better than church, Bible study, and therapy
The mistake most Christians make when praying
Why following Jesus requires you to accept that you will have many unlived lives
    And a lot more...

    🔍 Key Highlights:
The Apprentice vs. the Christian: We unpack the powerful idea that the term "Christian" might not fully capture the depth of following Jesus. Instead, we explore the concept of being an apprentice to Jesus, embracing learning and growth in a way that transforms our entire life.
The Misuse of the Word "Christian": John Mark Comer sheds light on how the term "Christian" has been diluted in modern Western culture, often disconnected from the disciple-making Jesus envisioned.
The Power of God's Love: We discuss how meditating on God's love can profoundly change us, more than decades of striving to be more loving could ever achieve.
The Role of Spiritual Practices: The conversation takes a dive into practical steps and spiritual practices that can help us access the grace and power of God in our lives, moving beyond knowledge to a lived experience of God's love.
The Importance of Prayer: We challenge the common approach to prayer as a one-sided conversation, encouraging a deeper, contemplative engagement with God that transcends words.
The Concept of Renunciation: A thought-provoking discussion on the necessity of renunciation in our lives, especially in the context of discipleship, vocation, and family, highlighting the need to live in alignment with our deepest values.
Choosing the Way of Jesus: An exploration of how embracing the way of Jesus involves making tough choices about how we live, work, and relate to others, prioritizing what truly matters over societal expectations.

Great podcast for financial growth with spiritual wisdom and humor mixed in!

Great podcast!! I’ve read simple money rich life and loved it- such a great combination of practical financial tips combined with spiritual wisdom. I especially love the focus on giving and having a “kingdom finance” mentality. I’m planning to take the TFF and 10x courses down the road. In the meantime, I love the weekly podcasts as a way to keep my financial priorities in order, plus I always get a laugh at something y’all say!
