I'm going to keep this week's podcast, a lean, mean fighting machine. My publishing team and I are working overtime to get everything ready for my book launch next week.

It is a super exciting time, and over the course of this book writing process, what I want to share with you this week has come up again and again. It's the concept of being interested or invested in your success. I wish I could take credit for this, but this concept is not of my creation. I love learning about elite athletes and the changes they make in their own life.

That take them from being good to crushing at excellence. I was listening to an interview a few weeks ago with a quarterback, Nick Foles, talking about Doug Peterson, the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles football team, which Nick used to play for. He talked about how coach Peterson motivated his team and looked at winning.

In the locker room, coach Peterson would ask, Are you interested in winning or are you invested in it? This is a huge distinction my loves whether in sports or in our lives Or, of course, on this journey, that nuance can spell the difference between victory and final defeat. So let's talk about that.

Interested. What does it mean to just be interested? In my world, that's being a looky loo window shopper. Always looking, never buying, slow to the draw. Waiting for that shit to go on sale and saving a few bucks that won't mean anything to you over the course of a lifetime instead of just pulling the trigger and having what you want.

Someone who is interested in success considers the possibility of winning but hasn't made the decision to win. Someone who is interested in winning. Well, more often than not, spend more time on the sidelines wishing and hoping than getting any real time on the field where the game is actually won. Now, let's contrast that with the person that is invested.

Invested is all about, F**k yeah! I'm doing this! Burn the ships! There's no turning back! I am going for it! These are people who are out on the playing field rain or shine doing what it takes and making no excuses. These are the people who commit to finding a way. They gravitate toward those who believe in them.

They surround themselves with people and coaches that can help them get there. They have the raw materials for success. They just need to be shaped into an arrow headed straight for victory. Now, being invested, I totally get it's a scary thing. It means we are all in. It means we risk looking foolish or downright stupid at times.

The people around us might not get it. The odds might be against us. But doesn't that make an even stronger case? For giving this journey and what you want on it, everything you've got,
